Role Details:
- Registered Nurse
- Part-time position (0.6 FTE, 48 hours per pay period)

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse delivers professional nursing care to patients and their families within the Medical/Surgical/Pediatric unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct admission assessments in accordance with unit protocols, utilizing patient history, effective communication, and physical assessments.
- Identify nursing diagnoses and collaborative issues to determine suitable interventions within established care standards.
- Initiate and document discharge and transfer planning to facilitate patient-centered communication and care.
- Manage patient care responsibilities by organizing workloads and adapting to changes as necessary.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Ensure care plans align with nursing standards and hospital policies.
- Engage in quality assurance initiatives to assess and enhance patient care.
- Foster an environment that promotes individual growth and enhances professional practice.
- Participate in professional development activities to uphold accountability for nursing practice.
- Contribute to staff meetings, committees, and special projects, actively enhancing Acute Care's quality and development.
- Collaborate with and delegate tasks to ancillary/support staff as appropriate, ensuring adherence to scope of practice.
Qualifications:
- Current registration with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
- Preferred clinical experience in acute Med/Surg/Peds Nursing, with the ability to care for adult or geriatric patients with orthopedic, general medical, and surgical conditions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, organize workloads, and communicate respectfully.
- Experience in assessing the needs of adult/geriatric or pediatric patients and developing appropriate care plans.
- Current BLS Certification or ability to obtain within one month.
- Current ACLS Certification or ability to obtain within six months and maintain certification.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission, and values.
- Consistent and reliable attendance.
