Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new hydraulic system designs and solutions, leveraging expertise in hydraulic engineering and system analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address technical challenges, ensuring seamless integration of hydraulic systems with other product components.
  • Conduct research and stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and trends in hydraulic systems, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure their success and growth in their roles.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to ensure compliance with Caterpillar's quality and safety standards.
  • Support and assist production assembly line and product field support personnel in troubleshooting hydraulic issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing downtime.
  • Deepen your knowledge base of Caterpillar products, technologies, processes, services, and systems, staying current on industry trends and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum, or extensive experience in hydraulics.
  • Relevant hydraulic engineering work experience, or design of off-highway construction machines.
  • Basic knowledge of 3D modeling software, ideally ProE/Creo.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the workgroup.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
  • Basic knowledge in testing and data acquisition tools, simulation and analysis of hydraulic systems, and machine operation.
