Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with specialty pharmacies and partners to manage inventory tracking, shipping, and the reuse of specialty medications throughout the practice.
  • Work closely with specialty medication nurses to optimize operational workflows.
  • Engage with healthcare providers, nursing staff, and patients to monitor the administration and receipt of specialty medications.
  • Handle phone communications with professionalism, directing calls appropriately and scheduling appointments as needed.
  • Generate reports to oversee appointment schedules and medication inventory, ensuring the accuracy of patient records.
  • Gather necessary documentation for timely and precise submission of prior authorizations for specialty medications.
  • Interface with clients, insurance representatives, and healthcare providers as required.
  • Prepare and manage shipping documentation and supplies for distribution across the practice.
  • Coordinate with the vial production team to guarantee accurate and timely shipping of medications and supplies to all locations.
  • Ensure proper unpacking and organization of received items upon arrival.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
  • Experience with biologics and prior authorizations is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Proficient in word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), and general computer skills.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and composure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include the ability to handle objects, tools, or controls, as well as the capacity to communicate effectively with others. The employee will frequently stand, walk, and perform various physical activities throughout their shift.

Work Environment

The work environment is typically moderate in noise level, with standard lighting. Employees may encounter infectious materials and potential allergens.
