Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Eligibility Coordinator to join our team at Medasource. As an Eligibility Coordinator, you will play a critical role in improving patient experience and revenue cycle performance by verifying coverage and benefits prior to ambulatory clinic visits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and verify patient and insurance demographics, verifying insurance benefits and coverage by reviewing benefits collection in Epic.
  • Provide cost estimates, securing pre-certifications and/or pre-notifications for patient services, collection of co-pay and deposits prior to services and providing financial assistance to patients.
  • Responsible for obtaining and communicating pre-authorization as needed per insurance company requirements.
  • Educate patients regarding adequate insurance coverage, understanding applicable hospital and physician billing requirements and communicating the proper procedures and requirements to patients.
  • Primary functions include focusing on interpersonal skills, data collection, and the ability to assess situations and to assist the team in developing solutions to achieve excellence in customer service while ensuring the financial viability of the hospital.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a high school level education with attainment of a high school diploma or a State High School Equivalency Certificate (GED) is required.
  • 1-3 years of work insurance verification, pre-certification or pre-authorization experience preferred.
