Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Coder II to join our team at Denver Health. As a Coder II, you will play a critical role in reviewing medical record documentation to abstract and assign diagnoses, procedures, and modifiers for statistical classification and reimbursement purposes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet or exceed the minimum coding productivity standard for the type of coding performed.
  • Meet or exceed the minimum coding accuracy rate of 95%.
  • Meet or exceed the Key Performance Standards of timeliness.
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information.
  • Assist with the training of coders.
  • Complete required coding training or other assigned coding instruction.
  • Maintain coding credential(s).
  • Participate in departmental coding and educational meetings, instruction, and roundtables.
  • Review coding guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain Desk Procedures for assigned areas.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • 1-3 years of medical coding experience by abstracting and assigning diagnosis, procedures, and modifiers in a multi-specialty facility.
  • Specialty certification required.
