Position Overview:

The Field Engineer role involves supporting the design, modification, testing, and deployment of complex, large-scale JOINT TERMINAL CONTROL TRAINING AND REHEARSAL SYSTEM (JTC TRS). Responsibilities include overseeing and coordinating activities across multiple site locations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Calibrating, installing, maintaining, repairing, and testing simulators and related support equipment.
  • Implementing changes and updates to training system hardware and software as per authorized procedures.
  • Conducting and documenting preventative maintenance checks for simulators and support equipment.
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and documenting issues with simulators and support equipment.
  • Replacing faulty equipment and maintaining accurate maintenance records.
  • Assisting with the installation and verification of simulator and support equipment modifications.
  • Participating in general field site facility activities as needed.

Technical Problem Solving:

The Field Engineer will address technical challenges and lead a technical team to identify solutions that align with product and customer specifications, recommending actions to company or customer representatives for coordinated product solutions.

Security and Compliance:

Maintaining security and cybersecurity protocols is essential, including performing system checks, scans, and audits.

Essential Duties:

  • Providing on-call helpdesk support six days a week.
  • Conducting and documenting required preventative maintenance checks.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing simulator and support equipment malfunctions.
  • Replacing faulty equipment and completing maintenance documentation.
  • Assisting with the installation and verification of modifications to simulator and support equipment.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or completion of a two-year electronic technician program at an accredited technical institute, or equivalent military technical training, along with two years of electronics maintenance experience on similar equipment.
  • A minimum of five years of experience as a simulator technician or simulation engineer.
  • Eligibility for U.S. Government contract requirements, which necessitates U.S. citizenship.

Security Responsibilities:

Compliance with all company security and data protection policies is mandatory. Employees must ensure proper handling of all information and materials, maintaining confidentiality and security protocols.

  • Incumbents must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers and phones, as well as simulator maintenance environments that may require the use of ladders and scaffolding.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must be capable of lifting up to 75 lbs.
