Position Overview

SUMMARY OF ROLE

Under the supervision of the Radiology Manager, the Ultrasound Imaging Professional is tasked with performing ultrasound examinations and procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards. This position demands a proactive approach and the capability to operate autonomously in a dynamic healthcare setting.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Adhering to infection control protocols and safety regulations
  • Observing safety measures consistently
  • Engaging in patient care planning and evaluations
  • Conducting interviews with patients or their families as necessary
  • Executing ultrasound examinations on patients
  • Collaborating with other departments for coordinated exams
  • Identifying equipment and supply requirements
  • Upholding a hygienic and secure environment for patient well-being
  • Preparing patients adequately for examinations
  • Coordinating with external facilities for radiographic images or reports
  • Assisting in the dissemination of radiology findings
  • Serving as a mentor for new staff members
  • Participating in patient education initiatives
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, along with completion of an accredited ultrasound technology program
  • Graduation from an accredited radiological and/or ultrasound technology program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Compliance with licensure prerequisites
  • Preferred experience of six months to one year in healthcare or ultrasound settings
