Server Assistant - Seasonal Position

Job Overview

SUMMARY:

The Server Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the serving staff by facilitating food and beverage service to patrons.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities outlined below are illustrative and not exhaustive of all tasks performed by individuals in this role:

  1. Welcome guests and take their food and drink orders.
  2. Address and accommodate any special dietary needs or requests.
  3. Deliver food and beverages to guests in accordance with their orders.
  4. Verify guest identification to ensure compliance with age restrictions for alcohol service.
  5. Prepare and arrange meeting spaces and banquet setups according to specifications.
  6. Handle and transport equipment such as tables and chairs with care.
  7. Perform basic cleaning duties as directed by the supervisor.
  8. Collaborate with kitchen and bar personnel to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
  9. Monitor guest needs, ensuring their satisfaction with food, drinks, and service; clear tables, replenish utensils, and refill drinks as necessary.
  10. Adhere to grooming and appearance standards.
  11. Maintain inventory levels in the banquet area.
  12. Comply with all relevant food and beverage regulations.
  13. Enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of service by offering suggestions and actively participating as a team member.
  14. Exhibit courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with guests and staff, fostering a positive workplace environment.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED; AND one (1) year of experience in food and beverage service; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of:

  • Food and beverage offerings, menus, and promotions.
  • Departmental policies and procedures.
  • Customer service principles and practices.
  • Proper business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Effective communication techniques for diverse individuals.

Skills in:

  • Delivering quality customer service with a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Efficiently serving customers.
  • Maintaining appropriate inventory of supplies.
  • Communicating effectively in both oral and written forms.
  • Organizing tasks, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Contributing to team goals and objectives.
  • Interacting successfully with individuals from various backgrounds.

Additional Information:

Temporary housing may be available for full-time staff during the seasonal period.

Compensation: Starting pay from $10.56/hour. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, training, and other factors.
