Job Description

Position Type: Hourly Paid
Expected Hours of Work: Varies based on business needs

Duties and Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans, utilizing dishwashers or manual methods.
  • Organizing and storing clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in designated areas.
  • Ensuring kitchen workspaces, equipment, and utensils are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Preparing and cleaning various food items for cooking or serving.
  • Restocking supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, and refrigerators.
  • Setting up banquet tables for events.
  • Maintaining cleanliness by sweeping or scrubbing floors.
  • Cleaning waste containers using water or steam.
  • Sorting and disposing of trash in designated areas.
  • Transferring supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, either manually or with hand trucks.
  • Receiving and storing incoming supplies.
  • Preparing and packaging individual place settings.
  • Participating in training and educational sessions as required.
  • Adhering to all uniform, grooming, safety, and sanitation protocols.
  • Reporting equipment repair and maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Training new staff members.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and understood.
  • Good auditory and visual skills.
  • Organizational capabilities.
  • Competent in the safe operation of kitchen equipment, including:
    • Ovens
    • Stoves
    • Dishwashers
    • Slicers
    • Coffee machines
    • Steamers
    • Mixers
    • Chef's knives
