Job Overview

Position: Industrial Maintenance Technician

Essential Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role; vocational or trade school education is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Experience in electrical construction and installation practices.
  • Proficient in the design, repair, and upkeep of electrical and mechanical systems, including hydraulics, gas, pneumatics, welding, machining, and carpentry, especially within the lumber processing sector.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to effectively manage tasks to reduce operational downtime.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Capability to stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver loads of up to 100 pounds.
  • Experience working in hazardous environments, including extreme temperatures and high humidity.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights, as well as in loud, dry, dusty, or wet conditions.
  • Basic proficiency in reading, writing, computer usage, and mathematics.
  • Self-driven and reliable with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
  • Dependability and punctuality are critical, along with adherence to safety protocols.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain standing for prolonged periods.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity are necessary.
  • Capability to lift and handle up to 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and handle loads under 75 lbs without assistance.
  • Frequent handling of loads up to 50 lbs independently.
  • Constant ability to manage loads of 25 lbs or less without assistance.
  • Ability to endure extreme temperature conditions.
  • Capability to work in confined spaces and climb ladders.
  • Occasional need to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, push, pull, reach overhead, and squat.
