About the Role

The Town of Winter Park is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Administrative Support Specialist in our Police Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our Records Manager and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Police Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Records Manager, including scheduling appointments, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Public Records Management: Assist with the collection, maintenance, and dissemination of public records, ensuring compliance with state and local laws.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with the public, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders, providing information and assistance as needed.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including police reports, incident reports, and other documents.
  • Correspondence: Prepare and process correspondence, including letters, reports, and other documents.
  • Training and Development: Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as records management, law enforcement, and customer service.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in an administrative setting, preferably in a municipal government or law enforcement agency.
  • Certifications: Colorado Law Enforcement Records Technician certification and Colorado Association of Municipal Court Administrators certification within one year of hire.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
