Ophthalmic Technician Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Quadrant. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our ophthalmology team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Room patients and obtain medical histories
  • Perform various exams, including slit lamp, visual fields, color vision tests, lensometry, tonometry, keratometry, and refractometry
  • Handle dilations and provide photography support
  • Assist with surgical procedures and handle scribing
  • Prepare instruments for sterilization and clean and stock rooms
  • Obtain authorizations and handle chart prep
  • Schedule appointments and provide administrative support

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as an Ophthalmic Tech in an ophthalmic practice site
  • Certification (COT) or (COA) or completion of a two-year certified ophthalmic assistant program
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
