Cardiac Monitor Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cardiac Monitor Technician to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a Cardiac Monitor Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring patient physiologic status via electronic systems and notifying appropriate patient care team members in the event of a variance or audible alarm.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor patient physiologic status using electronic systems and identify variances and initiate follow-up actions.
- Notify appropriate patient care team members in the event of a variance or audible alarm.
- Document patient data in a timely manner according to departmental standards.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EPIC) to review patient orders, location, and throughput.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Participate in performance improvement activities and initiatives.
- High School Graduate or Equivalent required.
- ECG Certification required within 12 months of hire date by the American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine or National Telemetry Association.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods, frequently bend/stoop, reach (overhead, extensive, repetitive).
- Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills.
