Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Monitor Technician to join our team at The University of Virginia. As a Cardiac Monitor Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring patient status via electronic systems and notifying appropriate staff of variances and alarms according to departmental policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor patients using electronic systems to ensure timely and accurate data collection.
  • Identify variances and initiate follow-up actions to ensure patient safety and well-being.
  • Document patient data in a timely and accurate manner according to departmental standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent required.
  • No experience required, but ECG Certification with the American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine or National Telemetry Tech Certification with the National Telemetry Association required within 12 months of hire date.
Physical Demands

The job requires sitting for prolonged periods, frequent bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, and cold.
