The evolution of wireless networking solutions presents a unique opportunity to fundamentally reshape the design, provisioning, and utilization of Wi-Fi networks. This is where your expertise as a thought leader comes into play. In the capacity of Senior Software Solutions Manager for Qualcomm's Wireless Infrastructure Networking (WIN) division, you will be responsible for defining and executing a comprehensive software platform strategy tailored to the diverse feature, performance, and ecosystem requirements of our varied end markets.

Your role will involve:

  • Leading and mentoring the software product management team within the United States.
  • Collaborating closely with geographically distributed engineering, marketing, and sales teams to shape the WIN software platform strategy.
  • Engaging with SoC product managers to articulate software platform market needs.
  • Fostering a robust ecosystem of third-party software developers that leverage the Qualcomm platform.
  • Identifying opportunities for software reuse and architectural innovation to optimize the software roadmap, enhancing engineering execution and market strategies.
  • Managing synergies between tactical customer software features, prioritizing, and communicating software product features to a wide array of geographically dispersed engineering stakeholders.
  • Overseeing the WIN software platform lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical execution.
  • Coordinating product launches and release plans in collaboration with market segment leaders.
  • Crafting key marketing messages for the WIN software platform.
  • Maintaining subject matter expertise and advocating for software ecosystems and technical trends that significantly impact the WIN business.
  • Delivering presentations at technical conferences and to clients.
  • Identifying and nurturing partnership opportunities.

This position is a leadership role for a technically adept and seasoned platform software product manager with a proven history of delivering 802.11/802.3 networking products across enterprise, carrier, and retail sectors. A minimum of 10 years of product management experience with complex networking platforms and at least 5 years of software architecture and development experience is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in delivering substantial ROI on large software platform products and incremental software feature enhancements.
  • Extensive experience in software ecosystem development.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of quickly establishing credibility and positively influencing diverse technical teams across multiple regions.
  • Familiarity with TCP/UDP/IP/802.3/802.11x protocols and experience with drivers from various wireless vendors.
  • Experience with Linux networking data path tools and processor offload architectures, including OVS, DPDK, etc.
  • Knowledge of networking data path services such as packet filtering, QoS, packet classification, DPI, firewall, wireless IDS/IPS, traffic and application visibility, network instrumentation, and telemetry.
  • Experience in managing and designing software that supports both proprietary and open-source initiatives efficiently.
  • Proficiency in managing and designing software applications compatible across multiple platforms.
  • Expertise in managing and designing software for reuse.
  • Experience with software modularization and testing methodologies.
