Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to determine their compliance with Massachusetts regulations and safety standards.
  • Inspect and evaluate mechanical, electrical, and emissions systems of automobiles, motorcycles, and commercial vehicles.
  • Accurately document inspection findings and promptly create and submit inspection reports.
  • Communicate with vehicle owners regarding inspection results, necessary repairs, and maintenance requirements.
  • Collaborate with technicians to ensure timely completion of required repairs and re-inspections.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest regulations and standards set by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
Requirements
  • Valid Massachusetts vehicle inspector license.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive mechanics and electrical systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately document inspection findings.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively explain inspection results to vehicle owners.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with the regulations and standards set by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
  • Previous experience as a vehicle inspector is preferred, but not required.
