Position Overview

The Behavior Analyst Intern at ACES is dedicated to enhancing the quality of care for individuals with Autism by participating in initiatives that elevate their skills to a supervisory level. This role focuses on the effective and efficient delivery of services that make a positive difference in the lives of clients through ABA therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering direct intervention services on a one-on-one basis or in small groups within various settings, including clients' homes, educational institutions, community environments, or clinical facilities. This involves:
    • Adhering to the guidance of Supervisors regarding responsibilities, performance, and the execution of ABA programs.
    • Creating and adjusting environments for intervention sessions to minimize distractions and ensure client safety.
    • Implementing engaging programs that facilitate enjoyable and effective learning experiences for clients.
    • Independently addressing and resolving challenging situations.
  • Regularly collecting and graphing data while maintaining organized and accurate client records.
  • Communicating any questions or concerns about program implementation to Supervisors during scheduled sessions through direct communication and documentation.
  • Participating in mandatory meetings, training sessions, and certifications as required.
  • Strictly adhering to all ACES policies and procedures, including those outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Completing all required checklist items for the Behavior Analyst Intern role, including training, assessments, and competencies in collaboration with clinical staff and clients.
  • Preparing for and attending all necessary meetings as directed by the Area Director/Area Manager.
  • Ensuring compliance with BACB and/or educational requirements for advanced degrees and certifications.

Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in a Master's or BCaBA program; a Master's degree or BCaBA certification is preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Clearance from background checks and up-to-date immunizations may be necessary.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • A minimum of three months of experience working with clients with ASD or other special needs.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential.
  • Successful completion of background checks, tuberculosis tests, Livescan fingerprinting, and any other required clearances.
  • Comfortable working in diverse environments, including homes, schools, community settings, clinics, and military bases.
  • A strong commitment to supporting and developing the skills of staff members.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, database software, and project management tools.
  • Highly organized with a professional demeanor and positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force and lift/move up to 25 pounds.
  • Direct work with clients may involve physical demands such as sitting, kneeling, squatting, running, twisting, turning, and reaching.
