We are looking for a proactive and skilled Product Owner to lead the development and management of our underwriting and financial product initiatives. This position is essential for establishing the strategic direction of our offerings, ensuring they meet the needs of our stakeholders, and fostering innovation through the exploration of new features and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Define the strategic vision for underwriting and onboarding products, ensuring alignment with the overarching goals of the organization.
  2. Identify, prioritize, and communicate project objectives across short, medium, and long-term timelines.
  3. Engage with stakeholders to discern their requirements and implement necessary enhancements.
  4. Oversee and maintain transparency regarding the product backlog and development roadmap.
  5. Forge and nurture reliable partnerships with third-party vendors.
  6. Ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory standards, maintaining a strict zero-tolerance policy for violations.
  7. Facilitate discussions with engineering teams to steer product development effectively.
  8. Work collaboratively across departments, including Risk, Legal, and Finance, to ensure cohesive product development.

Requirements:

  1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in banking or finance-related sectors (e.g., loans, payments, banking).
  2. At least 10 years of experience in managing technical products (e.g., platforms, distributed systems, data science, machine learning).
  3. Over 2 years of experience in leading teams and cross-functional collaborations.
  4. Exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and comprehend their business needs.
  5. Proven ability to translate business requirements into clear and actionable functional specifications.
  6. Experience in defining, documenting, and validating user requirements through various methodologies such as use cases and user stories.
  7. Strong project management capabilities, adept at juggling multiple projects simultaneously while meeting team needs.
  8. Proficient in structured backlog prioritization techniques.
  9. Ability to adhere to standard operating procedures throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring all project activities are documented and organized.
  10. Skilled in building partnerships across different functions.
  11. Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with underwriting processes and a solid understanding of the credit lifecycle.
  2. Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks relevant to the financial industry.
  3. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
