Job Title: Communications and Development Specialist

Join the dynamic team at Maya Angelou Schools and See Forever Foundation as a Communications and Development Specialist. This role is a key member of the Development & Communications Department, responsible for supporting the overall fundraising, marketing, and communications goals of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with SFF and MAS staff to develop and implement internal and external communications strategies and messaging.
  • Support the Development Manager on fundraising campaigns, corporate partnerships, and other development activities.
  • Research, write, and create content for communications and development projects, including press releases, social media updates, and newsletters.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, school leadership, and staff.
  • Monitor local, regional, and national news coverage and maintain press clippings and media library.
  • Assist in monitoring development records and updated files for the department.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, nonprofit management, marketing, sales, or related subjects.
  • Two to three years of experience in a related field.
  • Graphic design experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people and develop strong working relationships.
  • Desire to serve and work with diverse populations, especially urban youth.
  • Comfort with working in a fast-paced, non-profit environment.
