Unity Care NW is a private, non-profit, federally qualified health center (FQHC) that has been dedicated to serving the greater Whatcom County area since 1982. With facilities in Bellingham & Ferndale, we provide comprehensive primary medical, behavioral health, and dental services, as well as pharmacy care to a diverse and often underserved patient population of all ages. Position Summary

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for delivering a welcoming and positive telephone experience to incoming callers while assisting the Call Center in achieving service level and quality performance goals.

Qualifications

Professional and Technical Knowledge:
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills, computational and computer skills, and mathematical knowledge typically acquired through completion of a general studies high school program.
  • Specific knowledge of customer service, call center, and patient scheduling processes and practices, typically learned on the job or through a series of training sessions.
Technical Skills:
  • Keyboarding speed of 40 wpm and data entry skills.
  • Proficiency with all electronic clinical systems, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and scheduling systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook & Word.
Communication Skills:
  • Able to effectively convey complex and/or technical information to co-workers and others.
  • Capable of exercising tact and diplomacy in resolving mild conflicts or disagreements that may arise in a customer service context.
  • Skilled in preparing effectively written communication (e.g., correspondence, memos, letters, emails).
  • Proficient in verbal communication during both informal and formal interactions.
  • Bilingual communication in Spanish is a plus.
