Position Overview:

This role is located in Pasadena, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to in-house compressor specialists during both scheduled and emergency turbomachinery repairs and overhauls.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of compressor specialists as they manage contract personnel involved in centrifugal machinery maintenance.
  • Oversee the refurbishment of rotating machinery within the Gulf Coast and Hydrogen Pipeline business units.
  • Assess training requirements and cultivate internal expertise in compressor and steam turbine upkeep.
  • Collaborate with Reliability Engineers to analyze machinery vibration data and formulate corrective maintenance strategies as needed.
  • Direct vendor shop repairs to ensure adherence to established procedures and inspection protocols.
  • Manage the schedule for reciprocating compressor overhauls.
  • Develop project timelines and plans for forthcoming maintenance activities.
  • Assist in the planning process by providing technical insights, including manpower and material estimates, job sequencing, and potential repair methodologies.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance actions in the CMMS to accurately represent machinery history.
  • Engage in Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA) and Vulnerability Studies.
  • Offer technical support for troubleshooting turbomachinery issues and recommend repair solutions.
  • Oversee the inventory of capital spare equipment to ensure timely and quality repairs.
  • Ensure availability of necessary parts for upcoming maintenance tasks.
  • Lead or participate in compressor performance evaluations.
  • Provide technical advice to Gulf Coast locations regarding turbomachinery operational challenges.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process with recommendations for future overhauls and cost projections.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive work history records for all turbomachinery.
  • Develop and implement methods for assessing equipment condition and recommending repairs.
  • Identify strategies to minimize repair and overhaul costs.

Accountability:

  • Ensure 100% compliance with ALA Safety standards.
  • Adhere to all ALA and governmental regulations.
  • Document all machinery repairs and overhauls thoroughly.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and devise plans for addressing any deficiencies.
  • Maintain reliability and availability of rotating machinery.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; or a high school diploma with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Must possess valid employment authorization in the U.S. and not require visa sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Over 10 years of experience in centrifugal machinery maintenance.
  • Proficient in vibration analysis.
  • Comprehensive understanding of compression equipment operations.
