Job Summary

The Clinical Dietitian III plays a vital role in providing patient care that is integrated and compatible with the patient-focused medical goals and objectives. This position works closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure that nutrition care is delivered in a timely and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with nutrition-related needs.
  • Develop and implement nutrition interventions, including enteral and parenteral nutrition support, to meet the needs of patients.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making adjustments to nutrition care plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure that nutrition care is aligned with patient-focused medical goals and objectives.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance nutrition care and patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in dietetics, foods and nutrition, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Accreditation Council for Education and Dietetics.
  • Minimum of five years of directly related work experience, including two years of pediatric-specific experience.
  • RD/RDN (Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist) credential issued by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics' Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Specialty certification in one of the following areas: Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition (CSP), Certified Specialist in Pediatrics (CSP), Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition (CSR), Certified Specialist in Oncology (CSO), Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC), Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD), International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), or Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian (CEDRD).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (masters or doctorate) in a related field.
  • Experience working in a pediatric or neonatal intensive care unit.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records, nutrient analysis, and word processing software.
