Job Summary

The Clinical Dietitian II plays a vital role in providing patient care that is integrated and compatible with the patient-focused medical goals and objectives. This position works closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure that nutrition care is delivered in a comprehensive and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with various nutritional needs.
  • Develop and implement nutrition interventions, including meal planning, nutrition counseling, and education.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure that nutrition care is aligned with medical goals and objectives.
  • Provide education and training to Clinical Dietitians I and other healthcare staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in dietetics, foods and nutrition, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Accreditation Council for Education and Dietetics.
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience.
  • Valid credential as a Registered Dietitian / Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD) issued by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics' Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Nutrition Care Process and ability to apply all steps of the process.
  • General knowledge of electronic medical record, nutrient analysis, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish productive working relationships with multidisciplinary teams and support services.
  • Critical thinking to integrate facts, informed opinions, active listening, and observations.
