Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience: A minimum of two years in customer service is essential; experience in a medical or professional office is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within the first 90 days of employment.

Knowledge:

  1. Basic computer skills and familiarity with EMR systems (experience with Athena is a plus).
  2. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
  3. Understanding of customer service principles and techniques.

Skills:

  1. Excellent telephone etiquette and customer service abilities.
  2. Strong interpersonal skills, including friendliness, empathy, patience, and helpfulness.
  3. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  4. Ability to collaborate with colleagues and leadership effectively.

Abilities:

  1. Capacity to work independently and as part of a team, focusing on customer service and administrative tasks.
  2. Willingness to learn, adapt, and assist others.
  3. Ability to communicate clearly and calmly with patients and families in various situations.
  4. Strong analytical skills to assess situations and respond appropriately.
  5. Attention to detail is crucial.

Work Environment: This role is set in a medical office, with potential exposure to communicable diseases and other clinical conditions.

Mental/Physical Requirements: The position involves a variety of physical activities, including walking, standing, sitting, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds. The ability to manage a fast-paced patient flow is essential.
