The Middlesex Corporation is a leading heavy civil construction company seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team. As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of heavy civil construction projects, including highways, bridges, and marine facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough takeoffs and pricing of direct and indirect costs for heavy civil construction projects.
- Direct and manage a team of estimators working on bids, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
- Develop and manage pre-bid schedules, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure proper coverage and selection.
- Work closely with the Chief Estimator to ensure bid closeout and submission.
- Assist with budget preparation, DBE selection, and documentation on successful projects.
- Chair project turnover meetings for new projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in complex highway, piling, bridge, and marine construction.
- Minimum 3 years in a supervisory estimating position, working on projects valued over $50 million.
- Minimum 2 years of design/build experience with large public heavy/civil projects.
- Excellent computer skills, including experience with HCSS.
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced, challenging environment as an integral part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to different personalities, management styles, and team compositions.
- Strong analytical ability, capacity to interpret data, and make recommendations.
