Job Summary

The Middlesex Corporation is a leading heavy civil construction company seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team. As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of heavy civil construction projects, including highways, bridges, and marine facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough takeoffs and pricing of direct and indirect costs for heavy civil construction projects.
  • Direct and manage a team of estimators working on bids, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Develop and manage pre-bid schedules, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure proper coverage and selection.
  • Work closely with the Chief Estimator to ensure bid closeout and submission.
  • Assist with budget preparation, DBE selection, and documentation on successful projects.
  • Chair project turnover meetings for new projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in complex highway, piling, bridge, and marine construction.
  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory estimating position, working on projects valued over $50 million.
  • Minimum 2 years of design/build experience with large public heavy/civil projects.
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with HCSS.
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, challenging environment as an integral part of a team.
