Senior Civil Engineer

SMRT inc. is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Civil Engineering group, you will be responsible for providing civil engineering services for public and private clients in multiple markets.
Key Responsibilities- Organize and manage civil engineering design tasks for projects from preliminary to final design.
- Direct the preparation of specifications, cost estimates, construction drawings, and bid packages.
- Develop project design schedules that incorporate civil engineering services including design and permitting to meet client expectations.
- Oversight of civil engineering deliverables, requirements, and standards.
- Responsible for quality control and quality assurance.
- Establish working relationships and coordination with client technical staff and project staff with state and local governments and regulatory agencies.
- Mentor and assist junior engineers in performing civil engineering design including site evaluation, layout and traffic design, drainage and erosion control, and utility infrastructure.
- Develop standards of care for performing design and preparing drawings and documents.
- Develop and identify professional development opportunities and training for civil engineering staff.
- Serve as a technical resource to all disciplines on civil engineering skills and knowledge.
- Coordinate design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors, and client managers.
- Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance.
- Identify schedule and cost variances and develop and implement recommendations for corrective action.
- Assists with the identification of civil engineering teaming and resource requirements.
- Minimum of 18 years of site design, master planning and civil engineering experience.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, with the ability to acquire licenses in multiple states.
