Role: Community Living Specialist 1 - Proficient in American Sign Language - Full-Time

Compensation: $19.55 per hour, along with a $40 biweekly stipend for bilingual proficiency.

Work Schedule: 37.5 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend commitments.

Location: Holyoke, MA, with required travel to surrounding areas (Mileage reimbursement available).

Position Summary:

  • The Community Living Specialist 1 is responsible for delivering direct outreach services to individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Late Deafened, facilitating their journey towards increased independence. This role involves fostering and maintaining positive relationships that empower clients to achieve their personal aspirations and life goals. Experience with Deaf culture is essential. Candidates with backgrounds in human services, residential care, direct support, and caregiving are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Qualifications:

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a solid understanding of Deaf culture.
  • High School diploma or GED with 2-3 years of relevant or lived experience, or an Associate's degree with 1 year of related experience and/or training.
  • A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and access to a vehicle for transporting participants.
  • Willingness to travel within the region to visit residential settings, employers, and community organizations.
