Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Community Resource Specialist to join our team at the Partnership for Children of Essex. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families in Essex County.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) providers to support employee engagement and access to services.
  • Manage a directory of active MOU providers for staff use, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Design and implement internal provider events, such as workshops, resource fairs, and provider meetings, to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in Care Management team meetings to identify gaps in service and gather feedback, reporting outcomes to the Community Resource Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Training Department to develop workshops on resource identification, communication, and partnership building.
  • Lead internal marketing and communication efforts, including the Community Resource Department (CRD) newsletter, resource bulletin board, and calendar invitations.
  • Participate in the Get Connected Committee and support external events as needed.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor or higher-level management personnel.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Embody the mission, philosophy, and values of the Partnership for Children of Essex, demonstrating a commitment to collaboration and community engagement.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, counseling, psychology, special education, criminal justice) with a minimum of one year of relevant work experience required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in community relations and public speaking, with a strong understanding of Essex County community services and New Jersey child-serving systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and web-enabled applications required.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or Creole a plus.

  • Travel within Essex County is expected, with occasional travel to other parts of the state.
