POSITION SUMMARY:

As an expert in the field, this role offers professional guidance and support in addressing intricate laboratory-related technical challenges within the domains of chemistry, chemical engineering, industrial microbiology, and other applied sciences pertinent to operational issues at Aramco Services Company.

ROLE SCOPE:

Engages in extensive investigative projects with minimal oversight. These projects are both comprehensive and innovative. The incumbent operates within laboratory units that provide specialized services, such as Advanced Instruments and Core Services. Typically reports to a unit supervisor, but may also report directly to the Team Leader.

The individual is capable of independently managing research initiatives, utilizing their expertise and design skills, along with computational tools, to explore alternative production methodologies, new product innovations, and to assess the associated capital and operational costs. This analysis will support strategic decisions regarding R&D programs and the evaluation of processes for licensing opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Offers specialized guidance in areas such as analytical chemistry, microbiology, and civil engineering to enhance the company's exploration and production processes.

+ Conducts original research to tackle technical challenges that are not covered in existing literature.

+ Stays informed about significant advancements in their area of expertise and applies this knowledge to high-level investigative tasks.

+ Prepares detailed professional reports on research findings and reviews existing patents.

+ Maintains and enhances knowledge of current laboratory instrumentation.

+ Ensures a safe and accident-free laboratory environment, adhering to all safety protocols.

+ Collaborates with other R&D divisions to foster intellectual property development and advance business objectives.

+ May lead or participate in major investigative projects as assigned.

Performs additional related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline; a PhD is highly desirable.

+ A minimum of nine years of experience in a relevant industrial or laboratory setting.

+ Proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are essential for effective job performance.

+ The candidate should be adept at working independently or as part of a team, with experience in presenting projects and attending conferences.

BUSINESS INTERACTIONS:

+ Engages with various levels within the organization and collaborates with engineering professionals and contractors on specific technical issues.

+ Interacts with industry and academic entities through collaborative projects and partnerships.
