Job Title: Corporate Communications Manager

At Vets Hired, we are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Communications Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Communications Department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans to ensure effective internal and external communications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Communications Department to ensure the development and implementation of communications plans that align with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Department Vice President to develop and implement communications goals and measures to evaluate team performance.
  • Ensure that the company's strategic communications plan and crisis plan are up-to-date and effective.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of customer-facing applications and programs, including the website, mobile app, and text message application, as well as internal SharePoint site.
  • Coordinate and oversee daily staff activities, programs, and projects in the Communications Department.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction data and develop comprehensive communications strategies to address critical issues and topics of interest consistent with the data and the company's strategic plan.
  • Hold monthly communication-planning meetings and oversee the production of internal and external communication efforts, including all bill inserts, newsletters, magazine pages, digital signage, intranet information, and social media content.
  • Assist the CEO with the planning, writing, and editing of their monthly letter in the magazine.
  • Write articles for publications as necessary and participate in the team review and editing of all internal and external publications, meeting all associated publication deadlines.
  • Ensure that all communications, internal and external, relevant to the company's and customers' needs are met in a manner consistent with the strategic plan.
  • Serve as a media contact and assist in planning and implementing marketing efforts for affiliate companies.
  • Oversee staff activities related to community initiatives, including the Youth Tour and Scholarship program.
  • Coordinate the Annual Meeting, including working with all vendors and divisions to ensure a successful meeting, coordinating the board of directors voting process, proxy distribution, in-person voting, and the recording of board member candidate speeches.
  • Serve as the point of contact for third-party service providers and applications.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with staff members of state and national trade associations, as well as other electric cooperatives and communication professionals.
  • Assist with monitoring local, state, and national current events and political actions related to the company and its stakeholders, developing strategies to effectively communicate to the company's customer-owners regarding such issues.
  • Contribute to achieving departmental goals through active participation in the planning and administration of departmental budget and strategic objectives and by consistently supporting team efforts to achieve established goals.
  • Professionally represent and maintain positive communications and productive business relationships through participation in business-related events and activities as required.
  • Work continually towards self-development to stay current on communications, public relations, and web design procedures and practices.
