About the JobWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our Oncology department. As a Veterinary Technician in our Oncology department, you will be responsible for overseeing appointments, managing clients, and participating in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee appointments and manage clients throughout their visit
- Participate with DVMs in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
- Obtain and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
- Utilize different modalities of imaging for patient and procedural assessment
- Execute, monitor, and recover all assigned sedation and anesthetic events
- Provide empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to all patients being a strong patient advocate during the patient's hospitalization
- Maintain all equipment on a per-use basis ensuring the safety and best practice care of all patients
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician in a veterinary hospital setting
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working as a Veterinary Assistant in a veterinary hospital setting
- RVT or VTS preferred
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
- Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Highly competitive and comparable wages based on experience and skill set
- Monday - Friday, 4/10 hour shifts
- 30 hours considered full-time with benefits
- No weekends
