Role Summary:

The Audio & Media Technologies (AMT) division is integral to the audio and media capabilities across all of Apple's groundbreaking products, including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod, and Mac OS.

We are in search of a seasoned software engineering manager to oversee a dedicated team responsible for the conferencing functionalities of various applications, including FaceTime, Group FaceTime, SideCar, HomeKit IP Cameras, Wifi Calling, and Phone Continuity, with a strong emphasis on Power & Performance.

Role Responsibilities:

Our team is tasked with developing software services for real-time audio and video conferencing, as well as media distribution systems.

Our custom AV pipeline powers key features such as FaceTime, Group FaceTime, SharePlay, Continuity Camera, SideCar, AirPlay4k, and HomeKit IP Camera.

We seek a proficient engineering manager to enhance our AVConference engine, extending the Apple media experience to a broader range of devices and endpoints.

The ideal candidate will possess substantial management experience along with a solid understanding of media systems, embedded software, and system software design.

Key Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, delivering meaningful results for customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong mentorship skills to foster team development, emphasizing software and engineering excellence while maintaining a commitment to achieving our objectives.
  • Experience in embedded real-time environments, with proficiency in C, C++, or Objective-C.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
Education & Experience:

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with a strong emphasis on software engineering.

Compensation & Benefits:

At Apple, base salary is one component of our comprehensive compensation package, determined within a competitive range.

The base salary for this position falls between $181,000 and $313,000, influenced by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Employees are also eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
