Job Summary

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking an experienced Audio Visual Services Manager to lead the Digital Workplace AV Services team. As a key member of the Infrastructure Services department, this role will be responsible for managing the University's digital workplace AV services strategy and aligning it with the broader IT strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Digital Workplace AV Services team, overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of UCSF's audio-visual systems and infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement strategies to evolve the University's AV services systems and infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and efficient communication across departments.
  • Collaborate with IT personnel, end-users, and stakeholders to identify and address AV services needs and innovation opportunities.
  • Provide expertise on troubleshooting system issues and ensure the efficient execution of team duties.
  • Guide, assist, and mentor engineers, fostering their professional development and ensuring the team's success.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in audio-visual technology, unified communications, information technology, or network operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of voice and data network systems, operating policies, and procedures.
  • In-depth understanding of strategic planning, technology assessment, and direction.
  • Motivates and inspires staff to improve the industry alliance program, models strong customer service skills, and communicates complex technical information effectively.
  • Solves complex technical and non-technical problems within budget, timeline, and resource implications.
  • Provides inclusive leadership, advancing an inclusive environment that values equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Significant experience in audio-visual services design, implementation, and maintenance for large organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing ongoing technology infrastructure acquisition and expansion, including vendor relationships and performance evaluation.
  • Experience in complex healthcare, research, or educational environments.
  • Significant experience in a leadership or management role, overseeing a team of technical professionals, and aligning digital AV services initiatives with broader IT strategies and goals.
