Job Summary

MDA Edge is seeking an experienced HVAC Operations Manager to oversee the coordination and execution of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general construction, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical standards and codes, as well as financial and financial reporting experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and oversee job progress, ensuring timely completion and maximum profit.
  • Negotiate and prepare contracts for projects, working closely with project managers and engineers to establish project budgets and ensure accuracy of work.
  • Develop and implement training programs for project managers, engineers, and superintendents to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor job progress via SamPro, discussing actual progress vs. budget with project managers and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions for projects suffering profit slip, delegating tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team, managing project dependencies and critical path.
  • Maintain company backlog hours report for proper labor forecasting, determining client needs and developing dispatch calendars.
  • Assist project managers with submittals and closeout documents, facilitating pre-construction reviews with the sales team and project team.
  • Oversee warehouse manager and warehouse activities, coordinating weekly meetings with project managers and superintendents to discuss job progress and manpower needs.
  • Be responsible for hiring and termination of employees in conjunction with HR, performing other duties as assigned.
  • Develop job performance reports for the President and CFO.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Financial and financial reporting experience.
  • Familiarity with general construction, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical standards and codes.
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel management.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • 10 years of experience in the HVAC mechanical industry.
  • 5 years in a supervisory role within the industry.
