Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required. Basic computer proficiency is essential. Ability to operate small electrical devices such as vacuum cleaners is necessary. Exceptional customer service skills are a must. Effective communication in English is required, particularly in relation to job responsibilities, including understanding and interpreting chemical labels and safety materials. Job duties involve walking, standing, bending, climbing, and carrying items throughout the workday.

Must be capable of lifting up to 35 pounds independently. For items exceeding 35 pounds, appropriate lifting tools should be utilized, or assistance from a colleague should be sought when feasible. Unique lifting and movement scenarios will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Purpose:


This role is focused on executing primary environmental infection prevention services, which include cleaning, disinfection, and waste management in both patient care and administrative areas, ensuring safe and well-maintained environments for all.

Accountabilities:
Responsible for selecting suitable cleaning materials and supplies for each task and transporting them to the designated work area. Prepares cleaning solutions, including detergents and germicidal agents, according to established formulas. Performs sweeping, dust mopping, and wet mopping of floor sections, as well as spot cleaning carpets with appropriate solutions. Engages in shampooing of furniture, carpets, and rugs using the correct equipment and supplies, adhering to relevant schedules.
Repositions equipment and furniture for cleaning, rearrangement, or relocation as necessary.

Organizes furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion according to applicable floor plans after cleaning designated areas. Collects and/or distributes soiled and clean linens as required. Responsible for clearing trash and waste from all sections of the facility as needed.

Demonstrates accountability for attendance and punctuality. Adheres to the attendance standards outlined in the Hospital Policy and Procedure Manual.
Ensures thorough cleaning and disinfection of surfaces.
