Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle phone reception duties, including patient triage and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct registration and pre-registration processes, verifying patient demographics and insurance details while advising on required documentation.
  • Oversee check-in and check-out procedures for patients.
  • Maintain patient charts and manage documentation effectively.
  • Collect and post patient payments, including copays and deductibles.
  • Verify insurance and manage referrals as necessary.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Perform additional office tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience
  • At least one year of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a medical office setting.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), particularly Epic, is preferred.
  • Skills
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information effectively.
  • Experience with scheduling and rescheduling appointments.

Physical and Mental Demands

This role may require manual dexterity for operating office equipment, including calculators and computers. Physical demands may include bending, reaching for files, wearing headsets, and sitting for extended periods while using a computer monitor.
