Position Summary
The Patient Services Coordinator I role is centered around providing outstanding patient-focused customer support while assisting the teams at Illinois Bone and Joint Institute LLC. Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors, ensuring the highest standard of customer service.

- Respond to general inquiries and provide information as needed.
- Manage appointment scheduling and adjustments.
- Handle phone reception duties, including patient triage and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
- Conduct registration and pre-registration processes, verifying patient demographics and insurance details while advising on required documentation.
- Oversee check-in and check-out procedures for patients.
- Maintain patient charts and manage documentation effectively.
- Collect and post patient payments, including copays and deductibles.
- Verify insurance and manage referrals as necessary.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Perform additional office tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience
- At least one year of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a medical office setting.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), particularly Epic, is preferred.
- Skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information effectively.
- Experience with scheduling and rescheduling appointments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.

Physical and Mental Demands
