    • Guarantees timely sanitation of beds, rooms, and areas for patient admissions, transfers, and treatments, while demonstrating proficiency in teletracking.
    • Completes sanitation quality control checklists and offers constructive feedback to Environmental Services personnel and clients.
    • Engages in weekly Environmental Care Rounds with Infection Control and safety teams to assess cleanliness standards, and participates in relevant committees as necessary.
    • Conducts patient interviews and addresses complaints or issues effectively.
    • Responds to facility emergencies with the appropriate personnel and equipment.
  • Performs general supervisory functions
    • Initiates disciplinary measures and recommends termination of staff in line with departmental and hospital policies, providing necessary documentation for management.
    • Completes and submits performance evaluations for all Environmental Services and Linen personnel.
    • Conducts interviews for vacant positions and recommends candidates for hiring.
    • Distributes supplies to staff while ensuring compliance with cost containment measures.
    • Inspects equipment and supplies for cleanliness, adequacy, and functionality.
    • Promotes safe working practices and maintains all required logs and records. Implements ongoing education programs to meet hospital regulations and standards.
    • Reports items needing repair or replacement to the appropriate hospital personnel and follows up on all requests.
    • Provides support and counseling to associates regarding job-related challenges and performance issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.
  • Plans and oversees daily operations of the Environmental Services and Linen Department, including meeting arrangements and setups.
    • Creates schedules and assignments to ensure all tasks are allocated and areas are adequately staffed, including special project assignments. Evaluates and processes PTO requests based on departmental needs.
    • Ensures all cleaning frequencies are planned and executed within designated timeframes.
    • Delivers daily instructions and assignments to staff.
    • Collaborates with area managers to assess and schedule project cleaning requirements.
    • Participates in construction meetings to determine equipment and cleaning needs, ensuring deadlines for occupancy are met.
    • Follows up on verbal and written work order requests, assigning tasks to meet customer and patient needs promptly.
    • Orders necessary supplies and equipment for the Environmental Services and Linen departments, resolving any backorder issues to maintain supply availability.
    • Regularly meets with various vendor representatives.
    • Maintains and tracks all AV and meeting room equipment to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Reviews and maintains associate timecards, preparing them for approval and keeping attendance records.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a service-oriented department, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Strong supervisory skills in scheduling, planning, evaluating, training, and coaching Environmental Services staff.
  • Ability to identify and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
