Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Analyst Intern to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a Finance Analyst Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of financial analysis and business valuation projects, gaining valuable experience and skills in the process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day administration of our RedTire program, including data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Help identify and qualify potential business candidates for the program, including conducting market research and analyzing financial data.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and reports to support business valuation and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with our team to identify and address business needs, and develop solutions to support business growth and development.
  • Perform other ad-hoc financial and modeling analysis duties as required.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of finance, accounting procedures, and financial analysis.
  • Detail-oriented, methodical in analyzing data, and ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Completion of base-level finance and/or accounting courses to provide the theoretical background required for the job.
  • Experience in MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Current enrollment in at least 6 credit hours at the University of Kansas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Business undergraduate student with finance or accounting tracks or MACC or MBA graduate student.
  • Completion or concurrent enrollment in Finance FIN 310 or Honors Finance FIN 311.
  • Working experience in a finance-related field from an external employer internship covering some aspects of working with financial statements and/or valuation methodologies.
