Job Summary

The Kelly Group is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Metal Fabricator to join its team in Marion, Arkansas. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for the layout and fabrication of sheet metal and structural steel components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Laying out and fabricating straight lengths of ductwork, cones, elbows, tapers, and miscellaneous parts using a bending roll, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Laying out and fabricating square and rectangular spouting, square to rounds, tapers, offset fittings, and various parts using a press brake, adhering to precise measurements and quality standards.
  • Measuring and cutting various sheet metals using a sheet metal shear, maintaining a high level of precision and efficiency.
  • Operating an ironworker machine to punch, shear, and cut, ensuring safe and accurate results.
  • Operating a drill press, punch press, hand grinder, and other tools of the trade, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Reading and understanding blueprints/drawings, developing a cut list and/or material list accordingly, and communicating effectively with team members.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience fabricating structural steel, stairs, platforms, and handrail, demonstrating expertise in complex metal fabrication.
  • Ability to layout and cut sheet metal on a high-definition plasma table, showcasing proficiency in advanced metalworking techniques.
  • Ability to tack weld and/or final weld all fabrications using SMAW, MIG, and GTAW of mild steel and stainless steel, ensuring high-quality welds.
  • Thorough understanding of techniques to set up welding machines and gases, maintaining a safe and efficient welding environment.
  • Ability to square up and weld various geometries and components, demonstrating expertise in precision welding.
  • Ability to perform vertical and horizontal welding, showcasing versatility in welding techniques.
  • Understanding of various weld form symbols on blueprints, ensuring accurate interpretation and execution of welding tasks.
  • Ability to safely rig material and utilize overhead cranes, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including Excel and Word, and familiarity with AutoCAD, enhancing productivity and communication.
