The ideal candidate will excel in operating precision measurement tools, fabricating metal components, and delivering exceptional quality in their work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the press brake for operation by selecting suitable tooling, installing dies, and making necessary adjustments to ensure precise bending, angles, and dimensions.
- Load and unload materials to and from the press brake, occasionally requiring assistance for heavier items.
- Utilize either an Accupress or Bystronic press brake to meet customer specifications.
- Interpret blueprints and specifications to achieve accurate bending results.
- Produce blanks, perform layouts, and understand bend allowances.
- Employ measuring instruments such as calipers, measuring tapes, and gauges.
- Inspect raw materials for defects that may affect the bending process.
- Select and modify tooling, set dies and stop gauges, and adjust ram stroke for varying material thicknesses.
- Engage in quality control processes to ensure products meet the highest standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
- Assist team members as needed and follow all safety guidelines rigorously.
- Be flexible to work in different areas and operate various machines based on business needs.
What You Bring:
- A positive attitude and eagerness to assist and learn from colleagues.
- A reliable attendance record.
- Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Fabrication Specialist with strong technical skills.
- Ability to set up jobs on an Accupress Brake machine and execute multiple bends in a single piece of metal.
- Strong technical aptitude, including proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with stamping presses and sheet metal fabrication techniques.
- Capacity to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials up to 50 pounds intermittently.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; technical certifications or an associate's degree are preferred.
