Job Title: Engineering Technician II

Overview:

The Engineering Technician II plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and quality of construction materials through rigorous testing and analysis.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field and laboratory assessments of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
  • Engage with project managers, engineering technicians, and other stakeholders to discuss project specifications and testing protocols.
  • Safely transport material samples to the laboratory, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Compile and present data findings in both written and digital formats, ensuring clarity and precision.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment, vehicles, and workspaces.
  • Assist in the scheduling and coordination of technician assignments to various project sites.
  • Uphold strict adherence to safety regulations throughout all tasks.
Essential Functions:
  • Execute testing and observation tasks as instructed.
  • Document findings with accuracy and detail.
  • Perform preliminary data analysis to confirm correctness prior to reporting.
  • Relay pertinent information to project managers and other team members as required.
  • Support senior technicians with more complex assignments.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of assigned equipment.
  • Follow established safety protocols for all operations.
  • Commit to maintaining high-quality standards across all projects.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent training preferred.
  • Proficient in using laptops and familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Possession of ACI certification in Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, Concrete Strength Testing Technician, and certification in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation.
  • Completion of necessary internal safety training certifications.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Preferred Certifications:
  • NICET Level II certifications in Construction Materials Testing or Geotechnical categories.
  • ICC certifications in various disciplines.
  • AWS Certified Associate Welding Inspector.
  • ASNT Level II certifications in multiple testing areas.
  • Other relevant certifications that require experience and written examinations will also be considered.
