Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider, Neurosurgery

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our Neurosurgery team at Regions Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in neurosurgery and excellent clinical skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate care for elective and trauma neurosurgery patients
  • Assist surgeons in the operating room and on the nursing units
  • Coordinate patient care and assist surgeons in directing pre and post-operative nursing care
  • Perform patient assessment, write medication and treatment orders, and direct specific tasks
  • Daily and rotating inpatient rounding is expected in this position
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current DEA certification
  • Physician Assistant: Licensed as a PA with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice, NCCPA certification, and approved by Minnesota Board of Medical Practice for prescription writing privileges
  • Nurse Practitioner: Currently licensed as an APRN by the Minnesota Board of Nursing, currently licensed as a RN by the Minnesota Board of Nursing, and AANP certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years' experience in the neurosurgery in hospital environment, including First Assisting and seeing patients independently
