Job Overview

Position Summary

The role involves managing and maintaining intricate financial documentation for both internal and external stakeholders. This position requires interaction across various organizational levels, addressing and resolving complex financial reporting challenges, notifying senior management of any financial system or control discrepancies, and suggesting suitable corrective measures.

This position is under the supervision of the VP Finance / CFO.

COMPENSATION: $33.28 PER HOUR

Key Responsibilities

To excel in this role, the individual must effectively carry out each key responsibility, with or without reasonable accommodations.   • Compiles, analyzes, and investigates financial data utilized in generating comprehensive financial reports, including special assignments.
  • Prepares financial schedules and related documentation for the Annual Financial Report and submissions to relevant authorities, while assisting independent auditors as necessary.
  • Processes and submits reimbursement requests for Grant Funds through appropriate systems, and reports monthly expenditures as required.
  • Maintains specialized databases and engages in the enhancement of accounting systems, including subsystem implementations and modifications, while recommending upgrades to departmental information systems and procedures.
  • Evaluates existing accounting practices and proposes necessary enhancements.
  • Assesses the relevance of current procedures by reviewing guidelines from regulatory bodies and makes adjustments as needed; performs various technical and administrative tasks related to financial data preparation, reconciliation, and presentation.
  • Reviews pending charges for accuracy and validity, makes necessary corrections, closes financial records, and prepares essential journal entries; generates various financial reports for presentation to management and external entities.
  • Collects, analyzes, and prepares documentation for both internal and external use that conveys financial and budgetary information effectively; provides guidance to managers in the preparation of the Annual Consolidated Operating Budget and various program budgets; develops income projections and spreadsheets for annual budget compilation; oversees the fiscal inventory of fixed assets, ensuring accurate reporting for additions, deletions, and transfers, while maintaining proper documentation.
  • Assists fellow accountants within the department as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with substantial experience in the field, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of five years of relevant experience. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.

Special Qualifications

Possession of a valid state identification or driver's license.
