Position: Assistant for Public Affairs and Communications
SAFE (formerly Securing America's Future Energy) is seeking a dedicated Assistant to bolster its Communications and Public Affairs division. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual at the start of their career, eager to gain practical experience in policy communications while assisting with vital administrative tasks. Since its inception in 2005, SAFE has evolved from its initial focus on reducing oil dependence to addressing global transportation, energy policy, and mineral supply chain issues, tackling some of society's most pressing challenges. By advocating for international collaboration, transparency, and integrating reindustrialization with decarbonization, SAFE promotes a comprehensive approach to energy security.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with essential administrative functions, including maintaining media lists, monitoring press coverage, and organizing schedules.
- Enhance and manage our digital platforms, ensuring they are current and effective for content dissemination.
- Contribute to the creation and distribution of engaging content across multiple digital channels, blending policy insights with creative storytelling to highlight our initiatives.
- Support the design and production of visually appealing graphics and multimedia content to strengthen our online presence and effectively convey complex policy topics.
- Monitor and evaluate social media and digital performance metrics to assess campaign success, using findings to inform improvements and report on outcomes.
- Play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our organizational voice and perspective within the energy security domain.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Policy, International Relations, or a related discipline.
- Outstanding writing and editing capabilities, with a knack for adapting content for diverse audiences while integrating policy insights.
- Familiarity or interest in social media platforms, content creation tools, and digital management.
- Analytical abilities to interpret digital data and convert it into actionable strategies.
- Adept at multitasking and innovating within a dynamic, collaborative team environment.
Requirements
- 0-3 years of experience in content creation, digital strategy, social media management, or related fields, ideally within a policy-focused setting.
- A genuine interest in and understanding of energy, transportation, or mineral security issues, with a commitment to contributing to these discussions.
- Willingness to adapt to various responsibilities, adjust to shifting priorities, and advance organizational goals.
Compensation: Salary range of $55,000-$65,000 per year, commensurate with experience, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k) matching, and generous paid vacation policy. SAFE offers an extensive health benefits package covering up to 100% of premiums for employees and their families, along with a 401K plan featuring a 3% employer contribution and life insurance, among other benefits.
