Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Advisor to join our team at QinetiQ US. As a key member of our integrated marketing communications and public affairs portfolio, you will provide critical support to a federal law enforcement organization within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Execute Strategic Communication Plans
- Design and implement multimedia projects and campaigns in coordination with program managers and technical subject matter experts.
- Provide daily communications and public affairs guidance and support to agency executive leadership.
- Build and Maintain Collaborative Relationships
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with subject matter experts and agency leadership.
- Identify opportunities to introduce QinetiQ solutions that address existing and anticipated client challenges.
- Communicate Complex Information Effectively
- Analyze, interpret, and convey complex and technical mission-related language into clear, concise, and accurate language.
- Identify, recommend, and implement integrated marketing communications tactics and campaigns.
- Support Agency Executive Leadership
- Provide high-level integrated marketing communications and public affairs support on an array of activities.
- Assist with building the team's marketing communications and external relations capacity.
- Experience and Qualifications
- Possess three to 10 years of experience and a bachelor's degree, or two to eight years of experience and a master's degree.
- Previous experience in federal management consulting, strategic communications, marketing, visual communications, or a related field.
- Experience in marketing and communications, to include drafting high-profile talking points and speeches for high-level clients such as senior government officials.
- Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to think critically and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Smart, self-directed team player who can work both collaboratively and independently depending on the current needs of the client.
- Clearance and Security
- Ability to maintain a security clearance from the U.S. Government and to handle sensitive and complex subject matter with judgment and discretion.
- Experience with Federal Law Enforcement
- Demonstrated experience building working relationships with federal law enforcement stakeholders.
- Subject Matter Expertise
- Passion for public relations and subject matter expertise in integrated marketing communications.
