Product Manager Job Description

This role is responsible for the overall strategic management and responsibility of product life cycle for designated automotive diagnostics product lines.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Execute strategic leadership role in product development, launch and maintenance strategy.
  • Develop and execute product development plans across business unit and departments on a global basis.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead the full product life cycle (from concept to end of life for assigned product lines and projects).
  • Overall responsibility of product roadmap, and achievement of product and project financial goals.
  • Coordinate engineering and marketing personnel on the project, as well as collaboration with other inter-divisional teams.
  • Work with Engineering Managers to develop solid project strategies.
  • Responsible for communicating critical project status to all stakeholders.
  • Oversight responsibility for end-of-life product strategies.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering or equivalent experience in automotive repair industry.
  • Minimum 10 years related experience.

This is a primarily in-office based position that requires periodically visiting repair shops & technicians in their places of work. Additionally, this position requires out-of-town travel averaging 10%. The ideal candidate will have excellent product and project management skills and knowledge of Product Management techniques, as well as in-depth understanding of automotive vehicle systems and diagnostic repair strategies.
