POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Pastry Chef will embody a friendly demeanor and be a collaborative team member. This role involves ensuring that the pastry and bakery sections are well-organized and operate smoothly. Additionally, the Lead Pastry Chef will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, exemplifying the company's values while driving results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting the Bakery Manager in training team members;
  • Supervising team members and implementing strategies to enhance productivity;
  • Maintaining appropriate inventory levels;
  • Collaborating with the Bakery Manager to create a weekly schedule based on anticipated sales and workload;
  • Completing assigned opening and closing tasks;
  • Monitoring the quality of products and services, ensuring well-stocked display cases;
  • Ordering supplies based on accurate forecasting of departmental needs;
  • Clearly communicating and enforcing standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, and food safety to all team members;
  • Providing excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers, addressing inquiries and complaints;
  • Offering flexibility by assisting in various areas to support store operations.
Customer Service Excellence:
  • Demonstrating exceptional customer service skills and engaging with customers consistently;
  • Enhancing the speed and efficiency of service delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Valid Food Handlers Card;
  • Experience in customer service and retail is preferred;
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands and work conditions outlined below represent those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Some requirements may be adjusted to accommodate individuals with disabilities:
  • WALKING: Continuously throughout the shift while navigating the store and handling products.
  • STANDING: Continuously throughout the shift.
  • LIFTING: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
