Position: Lead IT Business Systems Analyst

  • Contract Duration: 12 Months
  • Compensation: $60 to $65/hr

Key Responsibilities:
  • The Lead IT Business Systems Analyst is tasked with overseeing multiple medium to large-scale IT Business Technology initiatives.
  • These initiatives are distinct, multifaceted projects with defined timelines, specific scopes, allocated budgets, necessary resources, and clear performance objectives.

Core Duties Include:
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and project teams to gather, assess, validate, and prioritize business requirements.
  • Conducting interviews and workshops to collect customer requirements through various methods such as surveys, site visits, and use cases.
  • Defining the scope and parameters of requirements analysis for each project to determine impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
  • Evaluating and confirming requirements for completeness, consistency, and adherence to standards.
  • Participating in quality assurance of purchased solutions to ensure functionality is optimized.
  • Assisting in the selection of software solutions that align with organizational needs.
  • Creating and utilizing standardized templates for drafting clear and concise requirements specifications.
  • Translating conceptual customer needs into functional requirements understandable by developers and project teams.
  • Developing process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide developers and project teams.
  • Facilitating peer reviews of business requirements to ensure accurate interpretation.
  • Interpreting customer requirements into actionable options and communicating these to business stakeholders.
  • Managing and updating the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicating changes and enhancements to business requirements to project managers and stakeholders through verbal and written documentation.
  • Engaging in testing efforts throughout the project lifecycle, including the creation of test scripts.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with Waterfall, Agile, and Scrum methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, and methodology development.
  • Proven background with business IT applications.
  • Ability to lead and influence decision-making processes with senior management.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with a logical and efficient approach.
  • Self-motivated and capable of prioritizing tasks under pressure.
  • Experience with MS Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration.
  • Experience with Electric Generation Interconnection programs.
  • Familiarity with Electric Distribution, Transmission, and Substation asset management processes.
  • Proven ability to lead significant technology solutions and business process improvements from concept to implementation.
