Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Phlebotomy Team Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the Phlebotomy or Site Lead Supervisors in their necessary duties, ensuring integrity and compliance for all BioReference accounts where phlebotomists and others are employed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with coordinating phlebotomists' schedules to accommodate clients' needs.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external clients, including patients, sales, client service, logistics, and senior management.
- Understand and instruct phlebotomy procedures, ensuring all phlebotomists are capable of following these procedures.
- Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
- Properly explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection methods.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
- Check test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure accuracy.
- Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperature.
- Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
- Attend annual department trainings and assist with projects as a subject matter expert.
- Collect data as needed and perform in-services.
- Assist with the setup of new locations and hands-on training with new employees.
- Diffuse situations with customers and clients.
- Cover different locations when necessary and varied hours.
Requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Some college classes preferred.
- Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed (CA, NV, WA, and LA).
- 2+ years of experience in phlebotomy.
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license (PSC/IOP/Pop Ups).
- Flexibility based on business needs.
Compensation Range:
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $24.00/Hr. - USD $28.00/Hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
