Job Overview

AeroSpec Inc. is seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Design Engineer to join our innovative team. This role is essential in crafting advanced automation solutions that leverage cutting-edge technologies in robotics, computer vision, and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive control system designs tailored to unique customer applications.
  • Create detailed block diagrams and graphical representations to outline critical components of the control system architecture.
  • Collaborate with project teams to present and refine solutions for clients and suppliers.
  • Transform conceptual ideas into manufacturable schematics and parts lists utilizing AutoCAD, including electrical, pneumatic, and network layouts.
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers and technicians in various aspects of control system design and development.
  • Engage in the conceptual development of equipment while balancing specifications, process requirements, complexity, cost, and timelines.
  • Interface effectively with suppliers and customers to ensure project alignment.
  • Possess knowledge of designing low-voltage power distribution systems and safety systems compliant with EN/ISO standards.
  • Implement and troubleshoot analog and serial devices as part of the control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO and EN 62061 for control safety systems in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Specify and integrate complex electrical and electromechanical components.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering teams during design reviews to provide insights on control interfaces.
  • Work closely with software development teams to ensure software aligns with control system design requirements.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in designing automation control systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical applications and control system components.
  • Familiarity with automation components from leading manufacturers.
  • Experience with field devices commonly used in automation, including robots and machine vision systems.
  • Strong background in motion control and networking industrial automation systems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as UL508A and NFPA79.
  • Ability to interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical design documents.
  • Experience with programming PLCs is advantageous.
